PCAHI Helps Lead the 33rd Annual East Bay HIV Update

On June 5, 2026, Primary Care at Home, Inc. (PCAHI) proudly joined healthcare professionals, public health leaders, advocates, and community members at the 33rd Annual East Bay HIV Update, hosted at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland.

This year’s theme, “Still Here, Still Strong: Divided We Fall, Together We Stand,” reflected both the resilience of the HIV community and the importance of continued collaboration in advancing HIV prevention, treatment, and care.

PCAHI’s presence was felt throughout the event—not only as attendees, but as planners, presenters, and hosts. Our organization played an active role in helping organize and support this important annual gathering, which brought together experts and community leaders from across the region to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and explore the latest developments in HIV care.

Honoring Long-Term HIV Survivors

Held in recognition of HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day, the conference centered the experiences, wisdom, and leadership of long-term survivors. Throughout the day, speakers and attendees highlighted the invaluable role lived experience plays in building more equitable, compassionate, and effective systems of care.

The gathering served as a powerful reminder that those who have lived through decades of the HIV epidemic continue to shape the future of prevention, treatment, advocacy, and community support.

PCAHI Takes the Stage

PCAHI’s own Dr. Anthony E. Jones was a featured presenter, delivering two well-received presentations during the conference. Dr. Jones shared his expertise and insights with attendees, contributing to important conversations around HIV care and the evolving needs of people living with HIV.

In addition, Jesse Brooks, PCAHI’s Community Liaison, served as co-host for the event, helping guide the day’s program and foster engagement among participants.

PCAHI was proud to have our entire staff in attendance, demonstrating our collective commitment to learning, collaboration, and advancing the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

The beautiful June weather provided the perfect backdrop for a day of learning and fellowship. Attendees enjoyed outdoor wellness activities, including yoga sessions, massages, and opportunities to connect with colleagues and community partners in a welcoming environment.

The event also welcomed distinguished local leaders, including Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee and Alameda County Supervisor Rowena Brown, whose attendance underscored the importance of continued investment in HIV services, public health, and community partnerships.
