Our Story

At PCAHI, we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the fight against the AIDS epidemic. Rather than waiting for change, we took action—coming together in Oakland to build a nonprofit that brings compassionate, high-quality care directly to those who need it most.

Our founders, experts in HIV care, housing, mental health, operations, and finance, recognized that real solutions require a comprehensive and hands-on approach. From the very beginning, despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, Primary Care at Home, INC. (PCAHI) was founded—built on the belief that lasting change happens when we remove barriers and bring healthcare to people where they are.

Since 2015, PCAHI has remained committed to supporting individuals on their journey to better health. By addressing not just medical needs but also mental and psychosocial well-being, we ensure that each person we serve has the resources to achieve stability, independence, and a healthier life. We take great pride in providing this care with the highest level of quality—reflected in our flawless audit record of zero corrective actions.

Yet, there is still more work to be done. Limited healthcare access, provider shortages, stigma, and rising housing costs continue to create challenges for communities across the Bay Area. With our recent expansion to San Francisco, we are extending our reach and bringing our innovative, person-centered approach to even more people in need. Together, we envision and are actively building a future where healthcare is accessible, equitable, inclusive, and within reach for all.
