About the Role
To provide Counseling and assistance to Medi-Cal Waiver clients who could benefit from nutritional & dietary planning, stress reduction and wellness intervention. This involves the collaboration with the client and the Registered Nurse Case Manager in order to work with clients and their families. The pay rate is fixed by the State of California so at $63.61 per hour (we only pass the funds through to you).

Responsibilities and Duties
Obtains food preferences to meet patients like and dislikes and meet cultural and religious needs.
Writes complicated diets.
Records visitation of food preferences, food allergies and intolerances in medical record.
Teaches sound nutritional principles of a healthy diet to clients and their families.
Provides input as needed in an on-going quality assurance program that monitors patient care and delivery of services to patients.
Prepares special studies or reports as assigned.
Test/assess new nutritional related products.
Assess patients' nutritional needs, develop and implement nutrition programs, and evaluate and report the results.
Confer with doctors and other health care professionals in order to coordinate medical and nutritional needs.
Perform nutrition screenings for their clients; and offer advice on diet-related concerns such as weight loss or cholesterol reduction.
Monthly contact with Participants to assist with nutrition supplementation.
Qualifications
A. EDUCATION: Registered Dietician with ADA credential and a Degree from an accredited institution
B. TRANING & EXPERIENCE
Experience with and ability to work sensitively with the personal aspects of HIV disease, including expertise in issues pertaining to death, dying, and bereavement as well as issues related to race, sex, and gender.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with consistent follow-through.
Experience working with communities of color, the lesbian/gay community, and people with HIV disease.
Special Requirements
Bilingual capability in Spanish and/or experience working with the Hispanic population is a plus.
Valid California Drivers License and Proof of Insurance.
Ability to operate a computer and/or a tablet PC
May be exposed to unsanitary conditions in some home settings
May be exposed to high crime areas within the service community
Ability to travel as needed within assigned geographic areas (travel reimbursed)
